Speedway Readiness Center
The Speedway Readiness Center complex includes a primary Readiness Center facility, entry control point, unheated storage building and controlled waste facility. The Readiness Center is a multi-use building for administration, assembly, training and materials storage. The Readiness Center includes classrooms, meeting rooms, foodservice, offices and support spaces. This functionality is provided within a contemporary, light-filled architecture. The design concept is a signature facility that speaks to the stability and strength of the NVARNG mission.
The orientation of the building provides expansive views of the Las Vegas Valley, adjacent mountains to the north and distant mountains to the west. The open office 2nd floor has abundant daylighting and windows. This greatly reduces the need for artificial lighting and promotes occupant connectivity to the outdoors.
The Readiness Center is a very energy efficient and sustainable building. Concepts include daylighting, photovoltaic panels, energy efficient building systems, low water use plumbing, arid-climate landscaping with large areas of native vegetation and sustainable building materials. The building is LEED Certified.
