Northern Nevada Facility

The goal of the new Northern Nevada Services Center was to replace and consolidate the current Department of Motor Vehicles facilities in the greater Reno/Sparks area. This facility replaces all operations and divisions that currently take place at the Galletti Way and Greg Street DMVs.

A collaborative programming effort was undertaken with major stakeholders, users, and multi-disciplinary designers. The process involved meetings, interviews, charrettes, and existing facility tours in an effort to collectively gather all the pertinent information for a new facility. Care was taken to analyze the information and create a program and an ultimate design solution that responded to the function and needs of a new DMV taking into account current demands as well as look to the future for growth and change.

The building and site design respond to the local architectural vernacular and place emphasis on clear organization and wayfinding. It also responds to the functions and organization of DMV operations.
