FIELD MAINTENANCE SHOP
NEVADA ARMY NATIONAL GUARD
MILITARY
The Field Maintenance Shop (FMS) at the Harry Reid Readiness and Training Center provides improved vehicle maintenance support activities for the Nevada Army National Guard (NVARNG) in the Northern Nevada region. The facility has shop and storage space to allow the mechanics to repair the full complement of military vehicles operated by the NVARNG.
The 13,332 square foot maintenance facility includes three high-volume maintenance bays, administrative areas, and materials storage rooms. New maintenance bays will have a drive-through configuration for ease of access. These bays are set to feature a distribution system of lubricants and fluids in a recessed trench, along with full telecommunication and computer workstation capability. The bays will have a 5-ton bridge crane that runs the length of the space. Natural daylight will come from clerestory windows on the south and north sides of the building.
The project includes a large service yard for circulation and parking of military vehicles. The new FMS will be adjacent to the current FMS, which is a smaller facility. The two buildings will be joined by sidewalks and landscaping to create one cohesive complex.
